A stainless steel motor shaft is the right choice when the operating environment involves moisture, chemicals, salt water, or strict hygiene standards. Fenglan supplies motor shafts in 304 stainless steel for general corrosion resistance and 316 stainless steel for marine and chemical applications where chloride exposure is a concern.

Every stainless shaft is centerless-ground to h6 tolerance and passivated after machining to restore the chromium-oxide passive layer. SGS-certified mill test reports confirming grade, chemical composition, and mechanical properties are included with every order.

Payment & Shipping

We accept T/T (bank transfer), L/C at sight, PayPal (samples), and Western Union. A 30% deposit is required to confirm production, with the balance paid before shipment.

Standard lead time is 7–15 business days for regular orders; prototype samples ship within 3–5 days. We ship worldwide via DHL, FedEx, UPS, sea freight (FCL/LCL), and air freight. FOB Changzhou and CIF terms are both available. All goods are packed in export-standard cartons with foam padding or wooden crates for heavy items. A commercial invoice, packing list, and COA are provided with every shipment. For large OEM orders, customized packaging and private-label options are available upon request.

Q: What is the difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel for motor shafts?
A: Grade 304 offers good general corrosion resistance and suits most food, water, and indoor wet applications. Grade 316 adds molybdenum, which significantly improves resistance to chlorides (salt water, bleach, chlorinated cleaning agents) — making it the standard choice for marine and chemical environments.

Q: Can stainless steel motor shafts be hardened?
A: Austenitic grades (304, 316) cannot be heat-treated to increase hardness. For applications needing both corrosion resistance and hardness, we recommend 416 martensitic stainless, which can be hardened to HRC 26–32, or a 17-4 PH grade for higher strength.

Q: Will the shaft be magnetic?
A: 304 and 316 stainless are essentially non-magnetic in the annealed condition. However, cold-working during grinding may induce a slight magnetic response. If strict non-magnetic specification is required, please specify on your drawing and we will confirm material lot permeability.

Q: Do you provide material certifications for stainless shafts?
A: Yes. Every order includes an SGS-certified mill test report (MTR) confirming material grade, chemical composition (C, Cr, Ni, Mo content), and mechanical properties.
