Braided Flexible Hose For Central Air Conditioning Connection

When a central air conditioning unit runs, the compressor, pumps, and other components inevitably vibrate. If that vibration travels through rigid piping, it creates noise and, over time, loosens joints and cracks pipes. The braided flexible hose is there to break that vibration path. The construction is fairly simple—the inner layer is a corrugated tube that provides some give and absorbs vibration right at the source. The outer layer is a stainless steel wire braid that wraps around and reinforces the corrugated tube. Why the braid? The corrugated tube alone has limited pressure capacity; with the wire braid over it, the whole assembly handles much higher pressures. Fittings on both ends connect the equipment to the piping, and the vibration stops right at the hose.

These hoses show up in quite a few places in central air conditioning systems—compressor inlets and outlets, pump connections, and chiller refrigerant lines. Sizes range from DN6 to DN80, and the end fittings can be threaded, flanged, or welded, depending on what the job requires. Every hose gets a pressure test before it leaves the shop, and helium leak testing is available if specified. The braided flexible hose solves a practical problem: you need vibration isolation, flexible piping, and full pressure rating all at once. Rigid pipe can't do it, rubber hose can't do it, but this braided hose does exactly that.
