High-Current Terminal Block Overview

A high-current terminal block is engineered to carry main power conductors — typically 35 mm² to 185 mm² cable — at currents from 150 A to 400 A continuous, while still fitting on a standard TS-35 DIN rail. The wide, deep clamping chambers accommodate large stranded conductors and lugged cables, and the silver-plated contact surfaces minimize resistance heating at high current density.

Fenglan's high-current blocks are available in single-conductor and twin-conductor versions, with optional knife-disconnect isolator for each pole, and are rated at 1,000 V DC (suitable for solar main busbars) and 1,000 V AC for industrial three-phase main feeds. Every block is tested at 2× rated current for 1 hour as part of batch qualification.

Application

High-current terminal blocks are used at the power inlet and main distribution points of large control panels and distribution boards:

  • Main panel incoming feed — connection of incoming mains cable (35–185 mm²) to panel busbars or main breaker
  • Motor control center busbars — horizontal busbar feed distribution to vertical MCC sections
  • Large motor branch circuits — direct connection of 90–250 kW motor supply cables to contactor and overload terminals
  • Generator paralleling panels — main incoming terminal for generator output cables before the paralleling breaker
  • Transformer secondary terminals — LV winding output connection in dry-type and oil transformer secondary cabinets
  • Solar inverter DC input — main PV array cable termination at inverter DC input terminal block (up to 1,000 V DC)
  • Battery energy storage systems — main DC bus cable connection between battery racks and the inverter/BMS
