Introduction

A locking gas spring — sometimes referred to as a lockable strut or adjustable gas spring — combines the smooth lifting force of a standard gas spring with the ability to stop and hold the rod at any position within the stroke. The locking mechanism is typically released by pressing a push-button or actuating a cable lever, allowing the user to adjust height or angle with precision and then lock the position instantly upon release.
