Introduction

Brass — primarily copper-zinc alloys — has been the material of choice for precision-machined fittings, valves, electrical connectors, and instrument components for over a century. Its combination of excellent machinability (C36000 free-machining brass is the benchmark against which all other metals are measured), inherent corrosion resistance, non-sparking properties, and attractive appearance makes it irreplaceable in many applications.

At Fenglan, brass is the single most machined material in our shop. We produce CNC-turned brass parts from ⌀2 mm to ⌀80 mm in continuous daily production, covering standard pipe fittings, push-in pneumatic connectors, electrical terminal bodies, valve seat inserts, and fully custom parts to customer drawings. Surface finishes range from natural machined brass (golden) through nickel plating, chrome plating, and electroless nickel, depending on the application's corrosion and aesthetic requirements.

Payment & Shipping

Payment Terms: We accept T/T (wire transfer), L/C at sight, PayPal, and Western Union. A 30% deposit is required before production begins, with the remaining 70% settled before shipment. For established long-term customers, flexible credit arrangements can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Lead Time: Standard production lead time is 7–15 business days after deposit confirmation. For urgent orders, expedited scheduling may be available — please contact our sales team to check availability.

Shipping & Logistics: We ship worldwide via DHL, FedEx, UPS, TNT, and by sea (LCL or FCL). Incoterms supported include EXW, FOB Ningbo/Shanghai, CIF, and CFR. The most cost-effective option is selected based on order weight and destination.

Packaging: All items are individually inspected, then packed in anti-rust film and foam-lined export cartons. Custom branding, inner packaging, and labeling are available on request. Packaging fully complies with international freight standards.

Quality Assurance: Every shipment is accompanied by an inspection report and, where applicable, material certificates (e.g., RoHS, REACH). We support third-party inspection arrangements (SGS, BV, etc.) if required.

FAQ

  • Q: Is standard brass (C36000) safe for drinking water applications?
  • A: Standard C36000 free-machining brass contains up to 3% lead, which is not acceptable for potable water contact in many markets (e.g., US NSF/ANSI 61, EU directive). For drinking water applications, we supply parts in lead-free Eco-Brass (C69300) or DZR brass that comply with the relevant standards. Please specify your regulatory requirement when ordering.
  • Q: What is dezincification and how do I avoid it in brass parts?
  • A: Dezincification is selective corrosion of zinc from the brass alloy, leaving a porous copper structure. It occurs in high-zinc brasses (C28000) in stagnant or chloride-rich water. To avoid it, specify DZR (dezincification-resistant) brass such as C46400 (naval brass) or inhibited alpha-brasses. Our team can recommend the right alloy for your service environment.
  • Q: Can you nickel-plate brass parts to specific thickness requirements?
  • A: Yes. We work with plating partners who can target specific plating thicknesses (e.g., 5 μm, 10 μm, 15 μm electroless nickel or electrolytic nickel). Thickness is confirmed by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) measurement on plated samples.
  • Q: What is your typical production capacity for high-volume brass turned parts?
  • A: For standard fitting profiles (thread-and-bore geometry), our CNC turning centers produce approximately 500–2,000 pieces per hour per machine depending on part complexity. We operate multiple lathes dedicated to brass turning, supporting sustained monthly volumes of 100,000+ pieces per SKU with consistent quality.
