Introduction

CNC milling is a subtractive process where a rotating multi-flute cutter traverses across a fixed (or indexed) workpiece to produce flat surfaces, slots, pockets, contours, and complex 3D profiles. Unlike turning, milling excels at prismatic and asymmetric geometries — housings, brackets, frames, plates, and manifolds that could not be produced on a lathe.

Fenglan's vertical machining centers (VMCs) support 3-axis and 4-axis milling with a maximum work envelope of 600 × 500 × 400 mm. Indexed 4th-axis capability allows compound-angle features and cylindrical pocket patterns without re-fixturing, keeping part accuracy high and cycle time short. All programs are generated in CAM software directly from customer 3D models, eliminating manual G-code errors and ensuring that even complex free-form surfaces are milled accurately.

Payment & Shipping

Payment Terms: We accept T/T (wire transfer), L/C at sight, PayPal, and Western Union. A 30% deposit is required before production begins, with the remaining 70% settled before shipment. For established long-term customers, flexible credit arrangements can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Lead Time: Standard production lead time is 7–15 business days after deposit confirmation. For urgent orders, expedited scheduling may be available — please contact our sales team to check availability.

Shipping & Logistics: We ship worldwide via DHL, FedEx, UPS, TNT, and by sea (LCL or FCL). Incoterms supported include EXW, FOB Ningbo/Shanghai, CIF, and CFR. The most cost-effective option is selected based on order weight and destination.

Packaging: All items are individually inspected, then packed in anti-rust film and foam-lined export cartons. Custom branding, inner packaging, and labeling are available on request. Packaging fully complies with international freight standards.

Quality Assurance: Every shipment is accompanied by an inspection report and, where applicable, material certificates (e.g., RoHS, REACH). We support third-party inspection arrangements (SGS, BV, etc.) if required.

  • Q: What is the maximum size part you can mill?
  • A: Our VMCs handle workpieces up to 600 × 500 × 400 mm (X×Y×Z) with weight up to approximately 500 kg on the table. For larger parts, contact us — we may be able to machine in sections or arrange a suitable subcontractor.
  • Q: Can you mill internal threads and tapped holes?
  • A: Yes. All VMCs are equipped with rigid tapping cycles and thread-milling capability. We produce metric, UNC, UNF, BSP, and NPT internal threads. Thread-milling is used for large-diameter threads or hard materials where a tap would risk breakage.
  • Q: Do you offer anodizing or powder coating on milled aluminum parts?
  • A: Yes. Anodizing (Type II decorative, Type III hard anodize), clear chromate conversion (Alodine), and painting are all available through our surface-finishing partners. Provide your color code or specification and we will coordinate the finishing as part of your order.
  • Q: What information do I need to provide to get a quote?
  • A: Please send a STEP or IGES 3D file plus a 2D drawing (PDF or DWG) with all tolerances, surface finish callouts, material specification, required quantity, and any surface treatment requirements. The more complete your documentation, the faster and more accurate our quote will be.
