Introduction

CNC turning is a machining process where the workpiece rotates at controlled speed while a stationary cutting tool removes material to create cylindrical, conical, or threaded profiles. It is the primary process for producing shafts, bushings, sleeves, pins, bolts, fittings, and any rotationally symmetric component.

Fenglan's turning workshop operates modern CNC lathes with live tooling (driven rotary tools), enabling us to produce turned parts with milled features, cross-holes, and hex flats in a single setup — reducing handling time and improving concentricity between turned and milled features. Our Swiss-type CNC turning machines handle small-diameter precision parts down to ⌀1.5 mm with exceptional surface finish and repeatability.

Standard turnaround for turned prototypes is 3–7 working days. High-volume production of up to tens of thousands of pieces per month is supported with dedicated fixtures and process monitoring.

Payment & Shipping

Payment Terms: We accept T/T (wire transfer), L/C at sight, PayPal, and Western Union. A 30% deposit is required before production begins, with the remaining 70% settled before shipment. For established long-term customers, flexible credit arrangements can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Lead Time: Standard production lead time is 7–15 business days after deposit confirmation. For urgent orders, expedited scheduling may be available — please contact our sales team to check availability.

Shipping & Logistics: We ship worldwide via DHL, FedEx, UPS, TNT, and by sea (LCL or FCL). Incoterms supported include EXW, FOB Ningbo/Shanghai, CIF, and CFR. The most cost-effective option is selected based on order weight and destination.

Packaging: All items are individually inspected, then packed in anti-rust film and foam-lined export cartons. Custom branding, inner packaging, and labeling are available on request. Packaging fully complies with international freight standards.

Quality Assurance: Every shipment is accompanied by an inspection report and, where applicable, material certificates (e.g., RoHS, REACH). We support third-party inspection arrangements (SGS, BV, etc.) if required.

  • Q: What is the smallest diameter part you can turn?
  • A: Our Swiss-type CNC lathes can machine parts from ⌀1.5 mm outer diameter with tolerances to ±0.005 mm. For parts below ⌀1 mm, please contact us as this typically requires specialized tooling and a feasibility review.
  • Q: Can you produce threaded parts with multiple thread standards in a single part?
  • A: Yes. For example, an adapter fitting with NPT on one end and BSP on the other is a routine order for us. Specify all thread standards, nominal sizes, and pitch in your drawing or inquiry.
  • Q: What surface treatments are available for turned parts?
  • A: We arrange a full range of post-machining surface treatments through qualified local partners: nickel plating, zinc plating, chrome plating, electroless nickel, passivation (SS parts), anodizing (aluminum), heat treatment (carburizing, quenching), and black oxide.
  • Q: How do you ensure thread quality on production runs?
  • A: We use calibrated go/no-go thread gauges on 100% of threaded features for critical applications, or on a statistically sampled AQL basis for standard orders. Thread form is additionally verified by optical comparator on first articles.
